Powerhouse - Boiler Plant Operator (Power Generation)

Location: Boston Plant, South Boston, Massachusetts, United States; on-site work required.

Salary: $38.14–$46.98 per hour, plus shift differential. The starting rate is $38.14 per hour, with growth potential up to $46.98 per hour.

What you will do

• Operate and maintain a 7.2 MW co-generation combined-cycle power system.
• Manage steam turbines, boilers, chillers, compressed air, vacuum, process water, and wastewater systems.
• Operate and maintain water treatment systems, including reverse osmosis and seawater systems.
• Perform permit compliance testing and support safe, efficient plant operations.
• Take ownership of shift operations, equipment performance, production continuity, and quality objectives.
• Work rotating shifts of 8–12 hours, including weekends and occasional overtime.

Requirements

• Current Commonwealth of Massachusetts Second-Class Firemen’s License or higher, with ongoing compliance maintained.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Experience with compressed air systems, chillers, turbines, boilers, reverse osmosis, seawater, process water, and wastewater systems.
• Willingness to work any assigned shift, including rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime.
• Ability to use hand and power tools, lift 50 pounds, climb and work on stairs, ladders, and platforms, enter confined spaces, and stand on concrete floors for extended periods.
