Robotics Support Engineer (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: San Francisco, CA; onsite in the office five days a week. The role requires up to 5% travel and late-night availability.

Salary: $114,000–$144,000 per year, plus potential equity awards.

What you will do

• Provide live technical support to customers and operations teams during production.
• Investigate complex behaviors across autonomous truck fleets using log analysis, reproduction testing, and systematic debugging.
• Develop reproduction cases, analyze system logs, isolate root causes, and communicate recurring issues to hardware and software teams.
• Create automated test suites, monitoring systems, diagnostic tools, and knowledge-base documentation.
• Guide cross-functional teams and operations staff on debugging approaches and common issue resolution.
• Develop robotics features and bug fixes.

Requirements

• 2+ years of relevant non-internship work experience.
• Methodical investigation and creative problem-solving skills for complex technical issues.
• Experience with large-scale logs, data analysis, Linux systems, debugging tools, and hardware systems.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly.
• Programming experience in C++ and Python.
• Ability to work onsite in the San Francisco office five days per week, travel up to 5%, and provide late-night availability.

Nice to have

• Experience with autonomy stack components such as sensors, actuators, networking, communications, perception, machine learning, or electrical systems.
• Experience debugging autonomous systems or robotics platforms.
• Background in automotive software or autonomy.
• Experience building tools that improve debugging and solving unusual technical issues.
