TL;DR
Structural Engineering Team Leader (Building Structures): Leading the design and delivery of structural systems for buildings across education, healthcare, civic, science, technology, and energy sectors with an accent on team leadership, construction documents, and integrated design coordination. Focus on managing structural engineering operations, reviewing calculations and technical documentation, and delivering complex building designs from concept through construction administration.
Location: Orlando, Florida, United States; four days per week in the office, with flexibility to work elsewhere on Fridays

What you will do
- Lead structural engineering operations, project execution, staffing, workplans, schedules, and performance within the studio.
- Lead structural designs from concept through construction administration across multiple building sectors.
- Produce and review engineering calculations, technical reports, plans, specifications, and construction documents.
- Coordinate structural requirements with architects, engineers, consultants, and external partners.
- Manage and develop Structural Engineers, Designers, and other studio personnel through mentoring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Support business development through RFPs, project interviews, and industry and community engagement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) or Professional Engineer (PE) with structural engineering experience.
- 8+ years of experience designing building structures across multiple project types.
- Strong knowledge of structural systems, building materials, and construction processes.
- Previous experience leading teams of Engineers and Designers.
- Experience with BIM workflows and structural modeling software such as Autodesk Revit.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Structural Engineering.
- Experience with complex building structures in Healthcare, Higher Education, or Science & Technology.
- Experience with seismic design and analysis.
- Interest in sustainable and resilient building design.
- Familiarity with integrated design delivery methodologies.
