TL;DR

Location: Lenexa, Kansas, United States; some nationwide travel is required.

What you will do

  • Develop preliminary structural systems coordinated with architecture, construction, and other design trades.
  • Prepare structural designs and coordinated construction documents for industrial, mission-critical, life sciences, and residential projects.
  • Apply construction experience to preliminary pricing, value engineering, and design decisions.
  • Incorporate jobsite feedback to identify and resolve construction issues.
  • Issue design changes and revisions as projects develop.
  • Participate in site and quality visits to help solve field issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • At least two years of experience designing commercial projects.
  • Knowledge of CAD software, including AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Experience with structural analysis software such as Tekla Structural Designer.
  • Ability to produce code-compliant, coordinated construction documents under senior engineer guidance.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree with a structural engineering emphasis.
  • Experience with industrial, mission-critical, or life sciences projects.
