Structural Engineering Team Lead

Location: Northern California; full-time in-person work in an assigned office in Walnut Creek or Folsom, California

Expected compensation: $120,967–$196,375 annually, depending on skills, experience, education, and geographic location.

What you will do

• Supervise engineers, designers, and modelers, supporting technical development, project delivery, and workload management.
• Serve as a structural engineering technical expert and resolve complex project issues.
• Plan, direct, and monitor structural work on large multidisciplinary or technically complex projects.
• Coordinate staffing, workload, documentation, and delivery across multiple concurrent projects.
• Lead design work sessions with project managers, technical professionals, and other disciplines.
• Support project management, quality control, operations, marketing, proposals, and client interactions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• At least 7 years of experience.
• Located in Northern California and able to work full time in person in the assigned office.
• Professional registration, license, or certification as required for the role.
• Strong communication, listening, leadership, and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple assignments.
• Preferred: Licensed California SE.

Nice to have

• At least 1 year of direct supervision experience.
• Master’s degree in civil or structural engineering.
• Experience with ACI 350 water-containing structures, OSHPD projects, and ASCE 41 seismic retrofit design.
• Experience with structural condition assessment, repair, and rehabilitation.
• Experience or interest in sustainable design and LEED.
