Focus on developing 3D cell layouts, integrating tooling and safety clearances, and delivering accurate documentation for customer installation and handoff.

Location: On-site five days per week in Southeast Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia

Salary: $80,000–$130,000 per year, with compensation based on seniority and skill level.

Company

hirify.global is a New York-based robotics company developing and manufacturing AI-powered six-axis robot arms, hardware, software, vision systems, and electronics in the United States.

What you will do

  • Create 3D models and fabrication drawings for robotic automation cells, end-of-arm tooling, custom fixtures, machine guards, and structural supports using SolidWorks.
  • Design components for sheet metal, welded fabrications, machined parts, and 3D-printed components while applying GD&T and conducting FEA for structural and load-bearing parts.
  • Develop 3D cell layouts covering robot reach envelopes, safety clearances, operator access, equipment footprints, I/O routing, pneumatics, cable management, and sensor mounting.
  • Define EOAT specifications, interface plates, quick-change systems, and tool-change architectures in collaboration with Automation Engineers.
  • Present CAD concepts and layouts to customer operations and engineering teams, incorporate site constraints, and prepare complete as-built documentation for handoff.
  • Maintain reusable design libraries, drawing standards, revision controls, and standardized solutions for recurring automation challenges.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of hands-on CAD design experience in industrial automation, robotics integration, or custom manufacturing.
  • Portfolio of automation or equipment designs taken from concept through fabrication and installation.
  • Experience designing EOAT, fixtures, or custom automation components for collaborative or industrial robots.
  • Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and familiarity with AutoCAD for 2D layouts and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience creating production-ready drawing packages, managing BOMs, and working with external fabrication shops.
  • Ability to work on-site five days per week in Southeast Pennsylvania.

Nice to have

  • SolidWorks certification or experience with RoboDK, DELMIA, or similar robot simulation tools.
  • Experience with machine tending, palletizing, welding automation, or assembly applications.
  • Familiarity with ANSI and CE machine safety requirements, regulated industries, or OSHA training.
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design Technology, or equivalent practical experience.

Culture & Benefits

  • Collaborative, communicative, pragmatic, and fast-moving working environment.
  • Self-directed project ownership with responsibility for managing design workload.
  • Employee stock options for eligible full-time employees.
  • Paid time off, medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, and disability insurance.
  • 401(k) benefits for regular full-time employees.
