TL;DR
Plant Terminal Operator Technician (Petroleum Terminal Operations): Loading, unloading, washing, inspecting, and transferring petroleum and other products across rail, marine, pipeline, and truck systems with an accent on process equipment, documentation, and operational safety. Focus on operating and troubleshooting terminal equipment, inspecting transport vessels, coordinating product movements, and responding to in-plant emergencies.
Location: Sarnia, Ontario, Canada; on-site work with outdoor duties, rotating day and night shifts, and occasional travel to other or client locations.
Wage: $26.94 CAD per hour

What you will do
- Load and unload rail cars, trucks, marine vessels, and other transport modes according to procedures, checklists, manifests, and regulatory requirements.
- Connect and disconnect loading arms, hoses, pipes, and grounding equipment while checking for leaks and mechanical defects.
- Operate locomotives and switch rail cars, including spotting, separating, securing, weighing, and preparing cars for shipment.
- Clean, inspect, repair, and prepare modes of transport while operating washing and drying equipment.
- Operate, monitor, start up, shut down, troubleshoot, and maintain pumps, valves, motors, instrumentation, and other process equipment.
- Complete logbooks and documentation, monitor site systems, perform inspections and sampling, and respond to in-plant emergencies when required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 0–1 years of relevant work experience or equivalent experience through education.
- Ability to work rotating on-call shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and occasional extended hours.
- Ability to work outdoors, follow safety procedures and work instructions, and manage tasks independently or with others.
- Successful completion of drug and alcohol testing, a criminal background check, a clear five-year driver’s abstract, and provision of two professional references.
- Authorization to work in Canada is required.

- Previous petroleum refinery experience.
- Experience with rail, marine, pipeline, truck, or terminal operations.
