Laboratory Technician - Mineralogy

Location: Onsite in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada

Compensation: CAD 20.50–21.50 per hour, 40 hours per week

What you will do

• Perform testing and analysis of base and precious metal ores, industrial minerals, and other materials.
• Operate, design, develop, test, and install laboratory or pilot plant equipment and systems.
• Conduct applied research and experimental testing.
• Receive, inspect, sort, label, crush, pulverize, split, and screen client samples.
• Calibrate equipment before analysis and troubleshoot or repair equipment and components.
• Compile and analyze data, prepare reports, and maintain a clean working environment.

Requirements

• Three-year post-secondary diploma in a science-related program, such as Chemistry or Metallurgical Engineering Technology.
• 1–3 years of experience in a laboratory setting.
• Good hand-eye coordination when handling samples and equipment.
• Ability to follow work instructions safely, accurately, and on time, with strong attention to detail and time management.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Effective spoken and written English communication and authorization to work in Canada are required.
