Power Engineer

Location: Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada; onsite rotating shift work

Salary: $23.88–$41.79 CAD per hour, plus eligibility for bonus, stock, and benefits

hirify.global’s BIOVECTRA business provides contract development and manufacturing services for active pharmaceutical ingredients and advanced therapeutics, including microbial fermentation, synthetic small molecules, plasmid DNA, mRNA, LNP, and sterile filling.

What you will do

• Operate and maintain boilers, chillers, air compressors, HVAC systems, and other stationary equipment.
• Monitor system performance and control equipment to maintain safe and efficient operations during rotating shifts.
• Perform inspections, water testing, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Maintain accurate operational, maintenance, and repair logs.
• Respond to emergencies, alarms, and system failures to minimize downtime.
• Support equipment upgrades, installations, modifications, and cross-functional operational goals.

Requirements

• Minimum 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate.
• 1–3 years of experience maintaining boilers, chillers, HVAC, and PLC systems.
• Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts: two weeks of days followed by two weeks of nights.
• Ability to follow safety, environmental, regulatory, and hazardous-material handling requirements.
• Ability to collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering departments.

Nice to have

• 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate.
• Knowledge of cGMP guidelines.
• Millwright, electrical, electromechanical, or plumbing training.
• Computerized Maintenance Management System knowledge.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
