Laboratory Services Supervisor - The Woodland, Tx

Location: The Woodlands, Texas, United States. Full-time onsite position with frequent travel by air or automobile, approximately 70% of the workweek.

Texas Oncology is a large community oncology provider delivering evidence-based cancer care through hundreds of sites across Texas and southeastern Oklahoma.

What you will do

• Supervise daily laboratory operations, personnel scheduling, testing, reporting, and patient flow.
• Perform routine laboratory tests and develop capability with more complex testing procedures.
• Establish and monitor quality assurance, quality control, proficiency testing, maintenance, and testing-performance procedures.
• Select, evaluate, and validate test methods; write new procedures and maintain the laboratory procedure manual.
• Review patient results and laboratory records, ensuring corrective actions are completed before results are released.
• Manage supplies, equipment evaluation, cost analysis, budgeting support, safety standards, and coordination with nursing, clerical, management, auditors, and clients.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Medical Technology or a related science field; bachelor's degree in Medical Technology preferred.
• Minimum five years of laboratory testing experience.
• ASCP or equivalent certification required.
• Current state licensure required where applicable.
• Knowledge of state and federal laboratory, OSHA, safety, and labor regulations.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred; ability to supervise, hire, evaluate, and train laboratory personnel.
