Phlebotomist Test Coordinator (Oncology)

Location: Clinic-based onsite position in Houston, Texas. Work schedule is determined by clinic requirements.

What you will do

• Perform venipunctures, verify patient identities and requisitions, and prepare blood specimens for laboratory testing.
• Maintain specimen integrity through aseptic techniques, isolation procedures, department protocols, and accurate collection logs.
• Coordinate patient appointments and blood draw schedules while supporting continuity of care.
• Serve as a liaison between patients, accounts, Sales, and internal operations teams.
• Resolve missing information, delays, cancellations, redraws, and escalated operational issues.
• Maintain quality control records and support compliance with CAP, CLIA, and healthcare regulations.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of phlebotomy experience required.
• Oncology experience required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; BS/BA degree preferred.
• Phlebotomy certificate required where mandated by state regulations.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, multitasking, and independent-work skills.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
