Software Engineering Manager (Go)

Location: New York, United States

Salary: $105,000–$137,000 per year, plus eligibility for an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Lead a small team of Associate and Senior Associate engineers through technical direction and day-to-day people management.
• Architect and ship end-to-end features across frontend and backend systems using Go-based APIs.
• Translate climate data into performant and accessible user experiences in collaboration with product and design.
• Debug issues across the frontend, backend, and underlying data layers.
• Run 1:1s, conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and drive code quality and engineering standards.
• Partner with platform engineers and data teams to ensure product behavior reflects real-world data.

Requirements

• Strong frontend fundamentals, including UI architecture, performance, and accessibility.
• Comfort working across the full stack and integrating APIs in production systems.
• Experience managing or mentoring engineers, including informal leadership experience.
• Ability to work with Go-based APIs and collaborate effectively with product managers and designers.
• Ability to operate with urgency in a fast-moving, mission-driven environment.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with GraphQL.
• Experience with geospatial or data-heavy systems.
• Experience translating climate or other complex data into product functionality.
