Engineering Manager (Cloud Infrastructure)

Salary: $250,000–$350,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Manage and develop a five-person cloud team, including mentorship, career development, and hiring.
• Own enterprise client interactions for deployments and onboarding.
• Partner with forward-deployed engineering to define requirements and delivery timelines.
• Lead the strategy for secure bring-your-own-cloud deployments across client infrastructure.
• Diagnose BYOC bottlenecks and develop technical and people strategies for scaling engagement capacity.
• Own technical decisions and cross-functional planning for the BYOC product.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience managing engineering teams and leading cross-functional initiatives.
• Enterprise client experience.
• Proficiency in at least one systems or backend programming language.
• Deep familiarity with AWS or GCP, security, and deployment operations.
• Strong understanding of application network architecture, including VPCs, DNS, secrets, and proxies.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or Crossplane, and GitOps workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI applications or scientific computing solutions.
• Startup or small-team experience with significant architectural ownership and ambiguity.
• Experience scaling systems, teams, or platforms during rapid growth.
