Radio Planning and Optimisation (Telecommunications)

What you will do

• Conduct site planning, optimisation, and cluster optimisation for the existing network.
• Monitor network statistics using relevant analysis tools and implement corrective actions to improve network quality.
• Analyse network capacity requirements and recommend dimensioning changes across network elements.
• Investigate network problems through detailed traces and verify root causes.
• Investigate and rectify network failures identified through regular drive testing conducted by outsourcing companies.

Requirements

• Three-year National Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering (Light Current), Electronic Engineering, or a SAQA-accredited equivalent.
• Relevant telecommunications courses covering GSM and UTRAN.
• At least three years of relevant GSM experience, including at least two years of UMTS experience.
• Knowledge of GSM, UMTS/W-CDMA, LTE, and 5G technologies.
• Experience with network analysis and statistical tools, including Netstats, Actix, MAPINFO, and NSS Radio Commander.
• Knowledge of network components and current vendor UTRAN equipment.
