Project Manager (Commercial Construction)

What you will do

• Lead commercial construction projects ranging from $10 million to $50 million or manage major scopes within larger projects.
• Manage project financials, general conditions budgets, cost forecasts, schedules, risk, quality, and client relationships.
• Support preconstruction by assembling bid packages, directing pre-bid meetings, analyzing bids, awarding work, and assisting with contract negotiations.
• Lead value-engineering and cost-saving initiatives, review change orders, determine their validity, and negotiate agreements.
• Ensure construction work, subcontracts, and purchase orders comply with contract documents and manage breach-of-contract matters.
• Mentor and supervise Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers while coordinating with owners, subcontractors, unions, vendors, and superintendents.

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant commercial construction experience, including higher education and life science projects.
• Experience completing projects as the leader accountable for financial, schedule, and completion outcomes.
• Understanding of pre-project planning, design processes, integrated project delivery, and construction operations.
• College degree in a relevant field.
• Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, time management, integrity, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, move around uneven job-site surfaces, climb ladders and stairs, and lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of the local market and city regulatory requirements and procedures.
• Experience with Excel, Synchro, Procore, Bluebeam, Egnyte, CMiC, Revit, or comparable construction technologies.
• Estimating experience.
