AI Engineer (GenAI)

Location: Madrid, Spain; hybrid work

Base salary: EUR 42,000–70,000 annually, plus performance-based variable compensation and additional benefits.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and optimize GenAI pipelines covering RAG, prompt engineering, long-context inputs, and multimodal processing.
• Prototype and validate AI solutions through proof-of-concepts, then industrialize successful patterns for enterprise deployment.
• Build ingestion workflows with OCR, chunking, embeddings, and vector-database indexing for unstructured data.
• Integrate GenAI services into business-critical workflows while balancing scalability, compliance, latency, and observability.
• Explore hybrid RAG, context-native, retrieval, and agentic reasoning architectures.
• Collaborate with product managers and UX designers to shape user-centric solutions and future product direction.

Requirements

• Proven experience with GenAI techniques and LLMs, including RAG, long-context inference, prompt tuning, and multimodal integration.
• Strong hands-on Python skills, with experience using embedding models and orchestration libraries such as LangChain or Semantic Kernel.
• Practical MLOps experience with version control, CI/CD, model monitoring, and reproducibility.
• Understanding of vector-search optimization and retrieval tuning.
• Ability to work independently, deliver iteratively, and use data-driven insights to challenge assumptions.
• Exposure to multimodal models and enterprise-grade requirements for security, compliance, explainability, and resilience.

Nice to have

• Experience operating AI systems in regulated industries such as insurance, finance, or healthcare.
• Familiarity with the Azure AI ecosystem, including Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Document Intelligence, and Azure Cognitive Search.
• Experience with agentic AI architectures, AutoGen, or prompt-chaining frameworks.
• Knowledge of data-privacy and auditability principles in enterprise AI.
