AI Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid work in Barcelona, Spain

Sateliot is a Barcelona-based satellite company building a satellite constellation that enables standard commercial devices to communicate directly from space.

What you will do

• Build production solutions using public AI model APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic/Claude and Google Gemini, as well as image, video and content generation tools.
• Integrate AI services with internal systems through APIs, webhooks, data flows, automations, agents and skills.
• Take prioritized AI use cases from prototype through production and maintain them over time.
• Design reliable, secure, observable and maintainable systems using sound architecture and design patterns.
• Use AI to streamline and automate processes across the company.
• Document technical and product decisions and stay current with models, APIs, agent frameworks and multimodal tools.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering background, ideally in infrastructure, platform, backend or DevOps.
• Production experience integrating third-party APIs and services, including authentication, webhooks, rate limits, retries, error handling and monitoring.
• Hands-on experience with public AI model APIs, AI coding tools and agents, and image or video generation tools.
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or TypeScript, Node.js or a similar technology.
• Architecture mindset, documentation-first working style and autonomy to own delivery end to end.
• Fluent English required.

Nice to have

• Experience building agents, RAG pipelines or AI-powered automations using function or tool calling, MCP, LangChain, n8n, Make or Zapier.
• Cloud and infrastructure experience with AWS, GCP or Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD or infrastructure as code.
• Experience with observability, evaluation and cost control for LLM-based systems.
• Curiosity about space, connectivity or IoT.
