Environmental, Health & Safety Coordinator (Manufacturing)

Location: Athens, Georgia, United States; onsite at the manufacturing plant

What you will do

• Lead the plant’s environmental, health, and safety plan and ensure compliance with company policies and state and federal regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections, audits, training programs, and incident investigations.
• Manage OSHA documentation, permits, regulatory inspections, workers’ compensation cases, and safety records.
• Coordinate emergency response for hazardous waste spills, environmental incidents, and fires.
• Ensure employees, contractors, and visitors follow site safety requirements and act as the EH&S point of contact for the hourly workforce.
• Coordinate safety-related maintenance, facilities, and equipment commissioning activities with plant leadership and engineering.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience as an EH&S leader in an industrial environment.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment and knowledge of state and federal safety and environmental regulations.
• Training in OSHA and emergency response, with relevant safety and environmental accreditation.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent manufacturing experience.
• Strong written, verbal, presentation, organizational, interpersonal, project management, and prioritization skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and the ability to operate calmly during a crisis.

Nice to have

• Additional EPA or OSHA-related experience.
• Experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets.
