TL;DR
Field Service Technician (Autonomous Vehicles): Installing, calibrating, maintaining, and repairing autonomous vehicle hardware and software systems at mining, quarry, and construction sites with an accent on vehicle interfaces, sensors, drive-by-wire kits, and field diagnostics. Focus on troubleshooting complex hardware, software, and connectivity issues, validating system performance, and supporting customers across highly mobile outdoor environments.

Location: Tucson, AZ; field-based work across the United States with travel up to 75%.

Salary: $27.88–$35.10 per hour

hirify.global develops and deploys production-ready autonomous vehicle technology, including Autonomous Haulage Systems for mines, quarries, and construction sites.

What you will do

  • Install hirify.global hardware and software, including sensor systems, drive-by-wire kits, power integration, and vehicle interfaces.
  • Install network stations, gate systems, and office infrastructure at customer sites.
  • Perform system calibration, validation testing, preventive maintenance, and equipment condition monitoring.
  • Diagnose and repair hardware, software, and connectivity issues in the field.
  • Train customer personnel, coordinate technical maintenance, and document service activities in ticketing and CRM systems.
  • Represent hirify.global during on-site customer visits and maintain responsive technical communication.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in field service, automotive electronics, mechatronics, or a similar technical support role.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and electrical testing tools.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle power systems, CAN bus, sensors, and ECUs.
  • Ability to work independently in field environments with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel across the United States up to 75% of the time and work outdoors around vehicles in varying weather conditions.

Nice to have

  • Experience with autonomous vehicles, heavy equipment, machine control, robotics, or complex sensor integrations.
  • Associate degree, trade school, or technical college certification in electrical, mechanical, mechatronics, or automotive technology.
  • Familiarity with Linux-based systems and remote diagnostics.
  • OSHA 10 or equivalent safety certification.
