Prototyping Service Technician (Contract)

Location: Allen Park, Michigan, United States; up to 15% travel may be required for training and support at other office locations.

What you will do

• Document findings accurately and track work time.
• Diagnose vehicle issues using hardware and software tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on electrical, electronic, and autonomous control systems.
• Assemble, modify, and repair wiring harnesses from schematics using hand tools and rework techniques.
• Flash and re-flash automotive control modules and work with CAN bus systems.
• Validate DAT, ADAS, AV, and EV system functionality while completing engineering requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent and two years of employment experience.
• Professional experience working on vehicles and knowledge of vehicle diagnostic hardware and software.
• Familiarity with oscilloscopes or picoscopes.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with small teams.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet hirify.global’s driving record requirements.
• Ability to pass required driving-record, drug, criminal-background, and vehicle-operator safety screenings.

Nice to have

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or a similar field.
• Knowledge of Google Docs, Sheets, and Gmail.
• Experience installing, repairing, and replacing autonomous vehicle or active safety equipment.
• Familiarity with vehicle integration software and data collection.
