What you will do

• Produce stories with compelling leads, strong framing, diverse sourcing, and minimal editing needs.
• Break exclusives by cultivating sources, developing story ideas, and conducting probing interviews.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of federal and state legislative, regulatory, and judicial processes.
• Collaborate with topic, multimedia, and graphics colleagues while working independently.
• Serve as a subject-matter expert and resource for junior reporters.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree; coursework in English or journalism is preferred.
• 7 years of journalism experience.
• At least 1 year of reporting experience on legal, tax, or government topics.
