Technical Writer (Legal & Tax Analysis)

Location: USA - Riverwoods, IL; hybrid attendance required 8 days per month at one of three Chicago-area offices.

Salary: $53,700–$91,950 USD annually, plus eligibility for a bonus.

What you will do

• Draft and edit detailed technical documentation with minimal supervision.
• Interview technical staff to gather comprehensive product information.
• Apply advanced documentation templates, company terminology, and editorial standards.
• Proofread content for grammar, consistency, clarity, and accuracy.
• Assist with technical illustrations and diagrams, and conduct initial usability and accuracy testing.
• Manage document versions and updates while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Law degree, JD, or equivalent degree required; finance degrees are also considered.
• Intermediate ability to draft and edit comprehensive technical documents.
• Proficiency in gathering detailed information from technical experts.
• Enhanced proofreading skills and the ability to maintain consistency and clarity.
• Ability to manage document versions and updates independently.
• Proficiency with advanced tools for content creation and management and effective cross-functional collaboration.
