Mechanical Design Intern (Year Round) (CAD)

Location: Appleton, Wisconsin, United States

Pay range: $18.00–$37.00 per hour

Company

Pierce Manufacturing, an Oshkosh company, designs and builds customized fire and emergency vehicles, including pumpers, aerials, tankers, and rescue units.

What you will do

• Create engineering 3D models, 2D drawings, and electrical schematics using computer-aided design software.
• Prepare Bills of Material for production and new product development.
• Create Engineering Change Notices to release new or revised models and drawings.
• Assist with material selection for engineered parts.
• Follow standard operating procedures, CAD procedures, drafting standards, and department work instructions.

Requirements

• Be enrolled in an Associate’s degree program in Mechanical Design or a related field for the entire internship.
• Understand linear measurements and Imperial and Metric systems.
• Read a tape measure and use other measuring devices.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to have

• GPA of 3.0 or greater.
• Experience with CATIA or other CAD design software.
