Technical Director, Global Cloud Operations

Location: Remote in the United States or hybrid, with hybrid preferred. Travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.

hirify.global is building Global Cloud Operations around Site Reliability Engineering, Site Reliability Operations, Platform Engineering, and Cloud Security.

What you will do

• Provide unifying technical leadership across the four Global Cloud Operations pillars.
• Partner with pillar Directors on architecture decisions, technical roadmaps, and cross-pillar trade-offs.
• Define shared standards for observability, incident severity, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud security controls.
• Chair recurring cross-pillar architecture reviews and maintain a unified view of technical debt and risk.
• Act as the VP's primary technical deputy and support Sev1/Sev2 incident reviews spanning multiple pillars.
• Mentor senior technical leaders and help Directors strengthen cross-pillar technical judgment.

Requirements

• 10+ years in infrastructure, platform, reliability, or security engineering, including 5+ years in senior technical leadership across multiple disciplines.
• Depth in at least two of Site Reliability Engineering, Site Reliability Operations, Platform Engineering, and Cloud Security, with working fluency across all four.
• Experience resolving cross-team technical trade-offs and influencing without direct authority.
• Deep experience with multi-cloud architecture across AWS, Azure, and GCP, modern observability, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud security fundamentals.
• Experience in a regulated industry with compliance obligations such as HIPAA, SOC 2, or FedRAMP.
• Must be based in the United States for the remote arrangement; hybrid work is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience as a Principal Engineer, Distinguished Engineer, or cross-functional Technical Director.
• Experience establishing architecture review or technical governance processes from scratch.
• Experience mentoring senior technical leaders outside the direct reporting line.
