Director - Secure Cloud Hosting (AWS/Azure)

Salary: $191,339.00–$325,277.00 annually based on full-time employment

What you will do

• Own the multiyear strategy and roadmap for managed AWS and Azure cloud hosting services.
• Lead global multidisciplinary teams and vendors delivering reliable, secure, compliant, and cost-efficient client environments.
• Drive Infrastructure as Code as the default operating model using standards, reference architectures, reusable modules, and policy-as-code.
• Govern landing zones, identity, networking, security controls, observability, disaster recovery, incident management, and 24/7 operations.
• Set SLO/SLA, SRE, ITIL, FinOps, audit, and service delivery mechanisms with executive reporting.
• Define and govern AI-driven automation, observability, remediation, and secure AI workload deployment.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in cloud or platform engineering and operations.
• 5+ years leading multidisciplinary teams in a 24/7 environment, including Staff and Principal Architects.
• Deep architectural experience across AWS and Azure, including identity, networking, security, compute, storage, and data protection.
• Experience with Terraform, Bicep, Pulumi, CloudFormation, AWS CDK, CI/CD, and policy-as-code.
• Strong knowledge of SRE, ITIL 4, NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, continuous compliance, and FinOps.
• Work from the Reston, Virginia vicinity with hybrid/remote flexibility and periodic travel.

Nice to have

• Experience defining AI operations use cases with AWS Bedrock or Azure AI Foundry.
• Knowledge of AI governance, model security, and responsible AI practices.
• Familiarity with FedRAMP for government workloads.
