Director, Platform Engineering (SaaS)

Location: Holmdel, New Jersey, United States; hybrid work schedule

Base salary: $225,000–$245,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Lead, manage, and grow a multifunctional platform engineering team while promoting ownership, operational excellence, and strong internal partnerships.
• Define the architecture of shared platform capabilities, including cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, GitOps delivery, observability, identity, developer tooling, and reusable services.
• Drive the AWS infrastructure strategy using cloud-native services, automation, containerization, monitoring, and incident response practices.
• Establish ArgoCD-based deployment patterns for Kubernetes workloads, including release promotion, drift detection, rollback, access separation, and auditable production change control.
• Develop observability across applications, infrastructure, and data services through metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerting, SLOs, and incident response workflows.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Security, and Design to define platform milestones, reduce delivery friction, and support reliable product delivery.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software, infrastructure, platform, or DevOps engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in a senior leadership role.
• Experience leading teams that build and operate scalable SaaS platforms.
• Strong competency with AWS, Kubernetes, infrastructure automation, CI/CD, ArgoCD, GitOps, and observability platforms.
• Ability to guide standards for monitoring, alerting, tracing, deployment automation, and production readiness.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and break long-running projects into measurable milestones.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting product teams using C#/.NET, React, and SQL Server.
• Experience working with HIPAA, SOC2, and PCI security and compliance requirements.
