Sr Manufacturing Test Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Suzhou, China; onsite position with no remote work available

What you will do

• Plan and execute semiconductor test equipment, new product introduction, and continuous improvement projects.
• Select, install, qualify, commission, and release test equipment, test boards, fixtures, and peripheral devices for production.
• Develop and optimize equipment and test-system specifications, including sockets, pogo pins, and other test fixtures.
• Develop automation solutions and integrate production test equipment with factory automation systems.
• Lead equipment upgrades, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and productivity improvement initiatives.
• Introduce, debug, and manage changes to test programs while optimizing parameters, test throughput, equipment utilization, and product yield.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in electronic engineering, automation, electrical engineering, mechatronics, instrumentation and control engineering, or a semiconductor-related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in semiconductor backend testing, including test equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, improvement, and engineering support.
• Solid knowledge of electronics, electrical tools, measurement instruments, semiconductor testing principles, and test-system architecture.
• Experience with equipment introduction, modification, process optimization, capacity improvement, technical specification development, and engineering project execution.
• Experience debugging, optimizing, and implementing test programs; programming knowledge in VB/VBA, C/C++, Python, or PLC programming is preferred.
• English communication at CET-4 level or above is required for technical communication with suppliers and Japanese headquarters.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or experience in semiconductor manufacturing environments.
• Experience with MCU testing platforms and equipment.
• Japanese reading, writing, and communication skills.
• Experience with digitalization, RPA, smart manufacturing, or OT infrastructure and equipment connectivity initiatives.
