Substation Engineer

Salary: $81,200–$133,400 annually

What you will do

• Perform physical substation, protection, and control engineering for utility projects from 12 kV through 500 kV.
• Develop yard layouts, plans, sections, grounding and lightning protection designs, control building arrangements, raceways, and auxiliary AC/DC power systems.
• Prepare protection and control documentation, including one-lines, three-lines, AC/DC schematics, equipment wiring, and relay panel wiring.
• Prepare grounding, lightning protection, and AC/DC load study calculations and reports.
• Develop equipment specifications for procurement and factory acceptance testing.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design activities, project schedules, budgets, clients, and less-experienced EITs or designers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the position location, such as a PE or P.Eng. license.
• Previous experience executing projects in the Power Market Sector.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office and standard Power Market Sector design software.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with managers, clients, and other departments.
• Commitment to participating in an employee-owned culture.

Nice to have

• Experience with PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, or Revit.
• Experience directing, mentoring, or training EITs and designers.
