Senior Civil Engineer

Location: Los Angeles, California, United States; four days in the office with flexibility to work elsewhere on Fridays.

Salary: $130,000–$170,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, clients, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Design and coordinate site development documents using Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Prepare site layouts, horizontal and vertical control, grading and drainage, storm sewers, stormwater management, paving, and site utilities.
• Perform complex civil calculations, code research, engineering reports, narratives, and permitting applications.
• Write and review specifications, shop drawings, and construction correspondence.
• Conduct site visits and manage priorities across multiple projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Civil Engineer license in the State of California.
• 8+ years of civil engineering experience focused on building-related site development.
• Previous experience in an architecture/engineering or civil engineering design firm.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D and working knowledge of Hydraflow, Storm and Sanitary Sewer Analysis, InfraWorks, and HecRAS.
• Strong communication skills and knowledge of stormwater management and hydrologic design.

Nice to have

• Experience with sustainable site design and low-impact strategies.
• Knowledge of ArcGIS, SketchUp, or other site-plan rendering software.
• Experience with state-agency permit submission and approval processes, including DSA, OFSM, and HCAI.
• Experience leading Civil Engineers and Designers.
