TL;DR
Project Manager / Professional Engineer (Water Resources): Designing and managing stormwater control, drainage, and water resource infrastructure projects for public and private clients with an accent on hydraulic design, flood control, water quality, and wetland protection. Focus on preparing design calculations and plans, overseeing projects from preliminary design through construction, and mentoring engineering professionals.

Location: Bloomington, Minnesota, United States; hybrid schedule with in-office work Tuesday–Thursday and work from home Monday and Friday

Salary: $87,400–$115,400 per year

What you will do

  • Prepare design calculations, technical plans, reports, and specifications for water resources projects.
  • Design, model, and develop stormwater drainage and management systems.
  • Manage projects from preliminary design through construction.
  • Collaborate with engineers, hydrologists, scientists, designers, technicians, clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop graduate engineers, technicians, and interns.
  • Support project scopes, schedules, budgets, permits, proposals, and client relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or similar engineering with an emphasis on stormwater, hydraulic design, or infrastructure design.
  • Professional Engineer license in the State of Minnesota.
  • At least 5 years of experience with water resources projects and experience working on MNDOT projects.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation OpenRoads Designer, ArcMap, SWMM, HydroCAD, and/or HEC-RAS.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience preparing water resources permits, including USCG Section 10, USACE Section 404/408, NPDES/SWPPP, wetlands, and floodplain permits.
  • Previous project management or project team leadership experience.
  • Experience supporting market development, proposals, fee estimates, and client or stakeholder relations.
