TL;DR
Senior Project Manager / Professional Engineer - Water Resources (Stormwater and Hydraulic Design): Developing and managing stormwater drainage, flood control, and water quality projects for transportation, railroad, government, and private clients with an accent on hydraulic design, sustainable infrastructure, and regulatory permitting. Focus on preparing design calculations and plans, overseeing projects from preliminary design through construction, and mentoring less experienced engineering professionals.

Location: Bloomington, Minnesota, United States; hybrid schedule with in-office work Tuesday through Thursday and work-from-home Monday and Friday

Salary: $104,400–$160,500 per year

What you will do

  • Prepare design calculations and plans for stormwater, hydraulic, drainage, and water resources projects.
  • Lead projects from preliminary design through construction, managing delivery across the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with engineers, hydrologists, scientists, designers, technicians, clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop graduate engineers, technicians, and interns.
  • Prepare technical reports and specifications and participate in project discussions and client interactions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or related engineering with an emphasis on stormwater, hydraulic design, or infrastructure design.
  • Professional Engineer license in the State of Minnesota.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
  • At least 10 years of experience with water resources projects, including experience with MNDOT projects.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation OpenRoads Designer, ArcMap, SWMM, HydroCAD, and/or HEC-RAS.
  • Valid driver’s license with a driving record meeting company requirements and strong Microsoft Office skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience preparing water resources permits, including USCG Section 10, USACE Section 404/408, NPDES/SWPPP, wetlands, floodplain, and watershed-related permits.
  • Project management experience involving scopes, schedules, and budgets.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams, supporting proposals and fee estimates, and developing client and stakeholder relationships.
