Service Shop Preventative Maintenance Technician (Heavy Equipment)

Location: Onsite at 4844 Wheatleys Pond Rd, Smyrna, Delaware 19977, United States; 2nd shift

Hourly wage: $30.05–$33.55, with possible premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs, and component replacements on trailers, tractors, yard trucks, shop equipment, and service vehicles.
• Create and process work orders, assess repair needs, identify parts, and select appropriate repair solutions.
• Repair and replace brake components, wheel seals, and tractor-trailer tires in accordance with DOT requirements.
• Communicate repair status and complete logs, records, and computer-based documentation.
• Receive fuel deliveries, monitor safety compliance, and prepare fuel samples and related paperwork.

Requirements

• Experience with preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs on trailers, tractors, or similar heavy equipment.
• Working knowledge of air, ABS, and disc brake systems and tire dismounting and installation.
• Ability to follow DOT guidelines and shop safety procedures.
• Valid state-issued driver's license.
• Brake inspection qualification under Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Section 396.25 and vehicle inspection qualification under Section 396.19.
• Ability to diagnose needs, select parts, document work accurately, and communicate repair details verbally and in writing.

• ASE Certification.
