(USA) Truck Shop Refrigeration Technician (Refrigeration)

Location: Onsite at 239 Goddard Road, Lewiston, Maine 04240, United States; 1st shift, full time

Salary: $37.10–$40.60 per hour, with applicable premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour

What you will do

• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on transport refrigeration units, HVAC systems, APUs, heaters, air-conditioning units, and trailer refrigeration components.
• Maintain and repair trailers, including electrical wiring, lighting, landing gear, panels, roofs, flooring, doors, thresholds, and tire seals.
• Inspect, adjust, and repair hydraulic, air, ABS, and EBS tractor-trailer braking systems.
• Install, remove, repair, and balance tires and perform advanced axle alignments with electronic alignment equipment.
• Diagnose and repair tractors, trailers, forklifts, shop equipment, service vehicles, air compressors, and other fleet equipment; order parts and identify repair solutions.
• Process fuel deliveries, warranty claims, work orders, maintenance records, and documentation in accordance with company policies and DOT regulations.

Requirements

• Three years of experience in trailer refrigeration maintenance and repair.
• EPA Section 608 Refrigerant Handling Certification.
• Valid state-issued driver's license.
• Brake inspection qualification under FMCSA regulation Section 396.25.
• Vehicle inspection qualification under FMCSA regulation Section 396.19.
• Diagnostic tool and computer proficiency, problem-solving ability, and strong teamwork and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Class A Commercial Driver's License and DOT driver's certification.
• Experience maintaining and repairing tractors and trailers.
• Thermo King Master Tech, Carrier Master Tech, or equivalent certification.
• ASE Certification.
• Experience with email, spreadsheets, and word-processing applications.
