(USA) Service Shop Preventative Maintenance Technician (Heavy Equipment)

Location: Onsite at 706 Bowens Mill Rd SW, Douglas, GA 31533-3924, United States; 1st shift

Hourly wage: $28.50–$32.00, with possible premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour in specific circumstances.

What you will do

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs, and component replacements on trailers, tractors, yard trucks, shop equipment, and service vehicles.
• Create and process work orders, assess repair needs, identify parts, and select appropriate repair solutions.
• Repair or replace brake components, wheel seals, and tractor-trailer tires according to DOT requirements.
• Communicate repair updates and complete required logs, records, and computer-based documentation.
• Receive fuel deliveries, monitor safety compliance, and prepare fuel samples and related paperwork.

Requirements

• Experience with preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs on trailers, tractors, or similar heavy equipment.
• Working knowledge of air, ABS, and disc brake systems and tire dismounting and installation.
• Ability to follow DOT guidelines and shop safety procedures.
• Ability to diagnose repair needs, select parts, and document work accurately.
• Valid state-issued driver's license.
• Brake inspection and vehicle inspection qualifications are required under applicable Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations.
