Roadway Engineer/Project Manager

Location: Montana, United States — Bozeman, Billings, Missoula, or Kalispell; local candidates preferred

Salary: $76,000–$108,000 annually

What you will do

• Plan, manage, and lead technical aspects of small to medium transportation projects and large routine projects.
• Develop detailed designs for urban and rural highways, roads, interchanges, intersections, alignments, and geometric layouts.
• Coordinate professional staff, CAD designers, EITs, clients, governing agencies, and other project stakeholders.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, workloads, financial tracking, design reviews, and contract documentation.
• Lead design development sessions and participate in projects from site feasibility analysis through final design and construction support.
• Perform quality control reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 7 years of experience in transportation design and project development.
• Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the position location; PE license in Montana or ability to obtain it through reciprocity.
• Hands-on experience with roadway and highway CAD software, including Civil 3D, OpenRoads Designer, Bentley ConceptStation, or Autodesk InfraWorks.
• Experience with urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, concept alignments, and CAD base alignment plans.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, MS Office knowledge, and commitment to active participation in an employee-owned culture.
