Senior Professional Engineer / Project Manager, Transportation - Highway Design

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States. Hybrid schedule with in-office work Tuesday–Thursday and work from home Monday and Friday. Travel may be required for client meetings.

Salary: $95,000–$115,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead highway design and transportation infrastructure projects for the Greater Milwaukee market.
• Establish work plans and staffing, coordinate engineers, technicians, and production staff, and supervise technical development.
• Prepare design calculations, plans, reports, specifications, and client communications.
• Conduct client, internal, and governing-agency meetings and reviews.
• Manage project goals, schedules, budgets, profitability, and risk.
• Support business development through opportunity tracking, proposals, marketing plans, client relationships, and presentations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in transportation or highway design.
• Professional Engineer registration in the State of Wisconsin.
• 5–10 years of highway design, plan development, or related transportation experience.
• At least 3 years of experience managing multidisciplinary projects through design and construction coordination.
• Demonstrated business development experience and a track record of securing new project opportunities.
• Experience with MicroStation and/or OpenRoads, Microsoft Office, and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Nice to have

• Experience collaborating with highway design, traffic, bridge, and water resources engineering professionals.
• Knowledge of Wisconsin DOT design and plan standards.
• Professional registration in two or more states.
• Ability to coach and mentor less experienced engineering professionals.
