Highway Design Engineer / Project Manager (Civil Engineering)

Location: Tallahassee, Florida; candidates may also be located near Panama City, Destin, Pensacola, Fort Myers, or surrounding areas. The role includes travel for team meetings, client consultations, business development, and on-site inspections, with occasional overnight travel. Employees cannot currently reside in AK, AR, CA, CT, DE, HI, KY, MA, RI, VT, or PR. Candidates must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer without current or future visa sponsorship.

Base compensation: $95,000–$115,000 annually, based on skills and experience.

What you will do

• Support delivery of highway projects and help expand transportation services throughout the Florida Panhandle.
• Manage client relationships throughout project development and after completion.
• Prepare project approaches, scopes, and fees; present proposals and participate in project interviews.
• Represent hirify.global at agency, project, and public meetings.
• Mentor staff and contribute to a positive, collaborative project environment.
• Conduct final construction inspections and expert-level field inspections for conformance with plans and specifications.

Requirements

• Work location: candidates must be based near the specified Florida locations or surrounding areas.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer license in Florida.
• Experience with highway design and construction of FDOT projects.
• Design experience with MicroStation, GeoPak, or ORD/OpenRoads Designer.
• Ability to travel as needed for meetings, consultations, business development, and inspections.

Nice to have

• At least six years of design experience.
• Experience at a civil engineering consulting firm in design or project management.
• Active participation in professional organizations, conferences, and technical publications.
