Senior Project Manager / Professional Engineer, Civil - Transportation (Highway Design)

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States; hybrid schedule with in-office work Tuesday–Thursday and work from home Monday and Friday

Salary: $109,290–$162,330 per year

What you will do

• Lead highway and transportation design projects from planning and preliminary engineering through final design.
• Establish project work plans and staffing, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and supervise technical development.
• Prepare design calculations, plans, reports, specifications, and technical communications.
• Conduct client, internal, and governing-agency meetings and reviews.
• Develop business opportunities, proposals, marketing plans, and client presentations with transportation leadership.
• Deliver projects efficiently within schedule, budget, profitability, and risk-management objectives while mentoring less experienced professionals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in transportation or highway design.
• Professional Engineer registration in Wisconsin and authorization to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
• At least 10 years of highway design, plan development, or related transportation experience.
• At least 5 years managing multidisciplinary projects through design and construction coordination.
• Demonstrated business development experience with a record of securing new project opportunities.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Wisconsin DOT design and delivery methods, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D; valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Nice to have

• Experience collaborating with highway design, traffic, structural bridge, and water resources engineering professionals.
• Professional registration in two or more states.
• Experience coaching and mentoring less experienced engineering professionals.
