Software Engineer 2 (JavaScript/React/Angular/Java)

Location: Annapolis Junction, Maryland — Hybrid; U.S. citizenship required

Annual salary: $130,000–$270,000, depending on years of experience.

What you will do

• Architect, develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems.
• Deliver scalable solutions for processing-intensive analytics, large data sets, real-time systems, and enterprise applications.
• Collaborate with engineers, stakeholders, and customers to design high-performing solutions and evaluate technical trade-offs.
• Implement reusable, modular components that support multiple applications and mission needs.
• Optimize performance and contribute to technical innovation and long-term system sustainability.
• Mentor developers and influence technical direction across teams.

Requirements

• Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable polygraph.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or another technical discipline.
• 14 years of experience architecting, developing, and maintaining software solutions, with an emphasis on performance optimization.
• Full-stack development experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular, and object-oriented languages such as Java and JavaScript.
• Experience with modular reusable components, Section 508 accessibility, and the full software development lifecycle, including design, testing, deployment, and sustainment.

Nice to have

• Experience developing web-based geospatial applications with tools such as Leaflet.
• Technical leadership, team lead, or mentoring experience.
• Customer service, stakeholder engagement, and cross-team solution optimization experience.
• Experience using CI/CD pipelines.
