What you will do

• Lead research, development, and production chemistry teams, including team leads, managers, and the Lab EHS Manager.
• Direct the design, development, scale-up, and manufacture of small-molecule chemical tools.
• Translate product development ideas and production requests into prioritized plans and coordinate delivery with program management, operations, and quality teams.
• Own departmental budgets, capital expenditure planning, workforce planning, and resource allocation.
• Drive continuous improvement, operational excellence, and capability development across the function.
• Represent the chemistry function during internal and external audits and customer assessments.

Requirements

• PhD in synthetic organic chemistry.
• More than 5 years of experience leading and developing teams, including matrix management.
• More than 2 years of experience leading people leaders.
• Comprehensive knowledge of COSHH, DSEAR, and applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Experience with scale-up chemistry and process safety management.
• Familiarity with Quality Management Systems, such as ISO 9001:2015.
