Scientist II (Cell Culture and Assay Development)

Targeted salary range: £38,600–£46,500 per year

What you will do

• Design, plan, conduct, and analyze experiments to develop new applications and improve existing ones.
• Support instrument testing, product development, validation activities, and preparation of validation data and reports.
• Apply aseptic technique and follow laboratory SOPs while maintaining accurate experimental records.
• Prepare reports and presentations, communicate findings, and participate in R&D project meetings.
• Collaborate with Production, Manufacturing, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Technical Support, and Marketing teams.
• Guide junior scientific team members on projects and experimental studies.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in biology or a related field.
• Typically 5+ years of relevant laboratory experience.
• Experience with CHO and HEK cell culture, stem cell or iPSC culture, and assay development.
• Computer proficiency with Word, Excel, and laboratory statistical programs.
• Independent work capability, strong communication and analytical skills, problem-solving ability, collaboration, and attention to quality and detail.
• Ability to wear PPE and work safely with chemicals, biological agents, biosafety hoods, and laboratory instrumentation.
