Senior Civil Engineer

Location: Toronto or Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada

Salary: CAD 126,000–176,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead site evaluations, zoning research, land development permitting, and entitlement processes.
• Design and produce plans for site layouts, grading, drainage, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and utilities.
• Prepare engineering calculations, reports, technical specifications, contract documents, and cost estimates.
• Apply advanced engineering techniques and professional judgment to complex site development challenges.
• Coordinate with clients, permitting authorities, project managers, and multidisciplinary design teams.
• Delegate tasks to and mentor junior engineers and technicians; serve as project manager when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience designing and managing civil or site design projects.
• Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the position location, such as a P.Eng.
• Experience with project engineering and project management.
• Proficiency with Civil3D, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam Revu, and relevant site civil engineering software.
• Ability to work in Toronto or Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada.

Nice to have

• Experience using AI productivity tools for technical writing, code and specification research, performance simulation, and modeling.
• Ability to rigorously audit and validate AI-generated technical outputs.
• Experience with local and surrounding-area land entitlement, site development design, and construction plan development.
