VP, Talent Partner

Location: San Francisco, CA; hybrid work model. Work from home on Mondays and Fridays.

Annual base salary: $345,000–$355,000, plus eligibility for a discretionary bonus and the Turn/River carry program.

What you will do

• Define and run executive hiring processes across portfolio companies.
• Partner with portfolio company CHROs to assess organizational health and recommend talent, capability, and structural improvements.
• Design and conduct assessments of executive and go-to-market leaders, delivering clear recommendations on leadership fit.
• Design and evolve organizational structures aligned with growth stage, business model, spans of control, coverage ratios, and role architecture.
• Advise on hiring profiles, interview processes, and onboarding for critical go-to-market roles.
• Develop repeatable talent and organizational design practices across the portfolio while representing Turn/River with portfolio leadership teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience with significant depth in People, Talent, or Organizational Effectiveness.
• Ability to assess executive leadership rigorously and make defensible recommendations within 30–60 days.
• Experience working closely with a CHRO or CPO and influencing complex organizational change without formal authority.
• Meaningful exposure to go-to-market and sales organizations.
• Ability to work in a hybrid model in San Francisco.

Nice to have

• Fluency in compensation plan design, quota-setting, territory structure, and coverage modeling.
• Experience as a Talent Partner, Operating Partner, or VP of Talent at a private equity or venture capital firm.
• Experience conducting executive assessments in high-stakes, time-pressured environments.
