TL;DR
Field Service Technician I (Electrical and Electronic Systems): Installing, repairing, and maintaining Trace and X-Ray security screening equipment at customer sites around Minneapolis–St. Paul, including the airport, with an accent on troubleshooting, customer support, documentation, and equipment safety. Focus on diagnosing field issues, managing parts and repair cycles, supporting customer training, and meeting U.S. security and export-control requirements.

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA; daily travel to customer locations in and around Minneapolis–St. Paul, including the airport. Service may be performed at airports, correctional facilities, courthouses, cruise ships, and other customer sites.

Salary: $63,800–$87,560 per year, plus a competitive Business Profit Plan.

What you will do

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain field-based electrical, electronic, Trace, and X-Ray equipment.
  • Respond to daily service needs, provide technical support and customer training, and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Document inspections, maintenance, repairs, open issues, reports, and parts activity.
  • Order, install, and return parts while managing repair parts cycle time and controlling costs.
  • Assess equipment performance, recommend improvements, and support site surveys, pilot programs, meetings, and service sales opportunities.
  • Maintain and calibrate tools and test equipment while following health, safety, environmental, export-control, and security policies.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree, related electrical/electronic/mechanical trade certification, or military training; 1–3 years of relevant comparative work and life experience may be accepted.
  • 1–3 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical and electronic systems or equipment in field service.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, with the ability to learn specialized software.
  • Strong communication, organization, teamwork, customer service, and problem-solving skills; willingness to travel at short notice.
  • Ability to lift or carry 80 lbs, push or pull 200 lbs, and move equipment weighing up to 1,000 lbs with assistance.
  • Must comply with U.S. export-control and security requirements and successfully complete TSA Sensitive Security Information vetting and a federal background investigation when required; a U.S. Personal Security Clearance may also be required.
