Mechanical Engineer Team Lead

Location: Overland Park, Kansas, United States; hybrid workplace. Travel may be required up to 25%.

Salary: $96,148–$195,149 per year. Typical new-hire range for Kansas City, KS: $101,489–$131,519 per year.

What you will do

• Lead mechanical engineering production teams by assigning tasks, balancing workloads, and maintaining quality and productivity.
• Oversee projects from planning and design through construction documentation and administration, keeping work aligned with scope, schedules, and budgets.
• Provide technical guidance on design, engineering calculations, code compliance, quality programs, and complex problem-solving.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables, specifications, details, and project documentation for technical accuracy.
• Coordinate with project managers, discipline leaders, clients, consultants, and authorities having jurisdiction.
• Lead meetings, support staffing and proposal development, conduct site visits, and supervise direct reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution and 8+ years of relevant experience, or at least 10 years of professional experience.
• At least 2 years of leadership or management experience is preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is strongly preferred; FE examination completion and EIT certification are also preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Deltek, Autodesk Revit, Visual Lighting, SKM Power Tools, Bluebeam Revu, and applicable design software.
• Ability to perform site visits, field measurements, construction observations, and construction administration duties.
