Mission Critical Mechanical Design Leader (Data Centers)

Location: Austin, Charlotte, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Des Moines, Durham, Fort Worth, Houston, Lincoln, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, Omaha, Orlando, Overland Park, Phoenix, Portland, Seattle, or Washington, D.C., United States. Four days per week are in the office, with flexibility to work outside the office on Fridays.

Salary: $100,000–$177,320 USD annually.

What you will do

• Lead mechanical engineering operations and delivery for mission-critical projects.
• Develop mechanical designs from concept through construction, including calculations, reports, narratives, and coordinated design requirements.
• Lead engineers and manage staffing, workloads, project schedules, deliverables, and profitability targets.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, consultants, and other disciplines to deliver integrated building designs.
• Perform quality control of mechanical engineering plans and specifications.
• Support recruitment, training, personnel evaluations, business development, and industry engagement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Licensed Mechanical Engineer.
• 15+ years of mechanical engineering experience, including HVAC systems, central utility plants, plumbing, and fire suppression systems.
• 5+ years of design experience related to data centers.
• Previous experience leading engineering teams.
• Experience with BIM workflows, including Autodesk Revit MEP, plus strong written and verbal communication skills.
