Senior Acoustician (Noise Specialist)

Location: New York, United States — Purchase or New York City. Full-time regular position with travel to project locations and occasional overnight stays.

Expected annual compensation in New York: $130,025–$185,750.

What you will do

• Serve as a technical expert in acoustics and vibration, resolving complex problems across a broad project portfolio.
• Lead and manage acoustical and vibration assessments, including architectural acoustics and environmental noise analyses.
• Measure noise and vibration using state-of-the-art instruments and process and analyze the resulting data.
• Plan and develop projects or design activities with significant impact on major company programs.
• Plan, organize, and supervise medium to large teams of professionals and technicians.
• Serve as Project Manager on larger projects and support client satisfaction and business development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Acoustics, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field.
• 10 or more years of experience in acoustical analysis with a successful record in project management, staff management, marketing, and client satisfaction.
• Experience with software for processing and analyzing noise and vibration measurement data.
• Proficiency with GIS, GPS, and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of relevant ISO and related acoustical standards, including FHWA, FTA, FRA, and UFC guidance.
• Strong leadership, communication, self-management, teamwork, and business development skills.
