Audio and Acoustics Systems Integration Engineer

Location: Bay Area, California, United States; requires 15% travel to Asia

Salary: $160,000–$190,000 annually

What you will do

• Support the design and prototyping of audio, noise, and vibration subsystems for AR and VR products.
• Perform acoustic analysis through testing, measurements, and design-of-experiments studies.
• Evaluate audio quality and communicate technical results to cross-functional teams.
• Bring up development hardware and software for audio and acoustic testing.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams, suppliers, contract manufacturers, and internal stakeholders.
• Manage audio development workstreams, meetings, priorities, requirements, and timelines.

Requirements

• Graduate degree required; an M.S. in acoustics is preferred, or a graduate-level degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Strong mathematical and physics background, with knowledge of full acoustic/audio and software/hardware signal paths.
• Strong fundamentals in digital signal processing and psychoacoustics.
• Experience with acoustic testing, measurement, data analysis, reporting, and presentation.
• Experience with MATLAB or Python, SoundCheck, Audio Precision, and digital audio workstations.
• Critical listening, technical communication, problem-solving, collaboration, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
