Associate Scientist, Technical Operations (NGS)

Location: Fremont, California, United States; hybrid work

Salary: $109,000–$132,000 per year, plus performance-based bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Implement new NGS-based products, automated processes, and operational releases with R&D, Operations, LIMS, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Quality, and Regulatory teams.
• Support the scalability, sustainability, and regulatory compliance of laboratory operational processes.
• Troubleshoot laboratory operations and support non-conformance investigations and corrective actions.
• Deploy improvements to Operations Informatics systems, LIMS integrations, laboratory instruments, and software systems.
• Plan and execute end-to-end testing and validation for NGS assays and workflows.
• Identify opportunities to increase sample volume and improve operations through collaboration with laboratory, product development, research, and automation teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field, with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on knowledge of NGS technologies and sample preparation workflows in a CLIA/CAP-regulated environment.
• Experience with LIMS integration and laboratory automation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, organized, proactive, self-motivated, and able to solve problems creatively and efficiently.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree or CLS certification.
• Experience with ISO 13485 and FDA requirements.
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
