Senior Systems Engineer (ESY3)

Location: Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC; onsite work required up to 5 days a week. Telework may be possible with customer approval. Occasional travel may be required to naval-centric locations including Norfolk, VA, and San Diego, CA.

What you will do

• Support the Program Manager and Deputy Program Manager on a large Naval Sea Systems Command support services contract.
• Oversee the development lifecycle of resilient software, hardware, and web applications from specification through maintenance.
• Integrate network operating systems, application programs, and hardware devices into cohesive systems.
• Contribute to system specification, design, coding, testing, rollout, and maintenance activities.
• Balance technical requirements with project cost, schedule, and broader program considerations.

Requirements

• Must be able to obtain an active DoD Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a relevant field.
• At least 7 years of experience with the design, development, production, or testing of systems or subsystems involving surface radars, electronic warfare, EO/IR, decoys, or laser software.
• No certification is required.

Nice to have

• Active Secret clearance.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Knowledge of Navy and DoD policy and guidance, systems engineering technical reviews, technology readiness, and technical performance measures.
• Experience with combat systems integration, requirements decomposition, program protection, and risk management.
